A singles match in tennis features individual players competing one on one against each other. In tournaments, there are usually separate singles competitions for male and female players. Competitors play until one of them has won six games. This means that the person has won that particular set of tennis.

Competitors will then go on play the best of three or the best of five sets which would complete the match. The first person to win most of the sets is the winner of the match. Some of the most famous singles players in tennis are Roger Federer, Bjorn Borg, and Pete Sampras.
