A serve is a shot that starts a point in tennis. The most common one used is the overhead serve which is initiated by tossing the ball over the server’s head and then hitting it when the arm is fully stretched out. There are different types of serve which can be used, such as a flat, a top-spin, or a slice serve.

Serve shot
Sometimes, a severely sliced serve is called a side spin. Tennis players with advanced skills usually try to hit a winning shot with their serve. When a winning serve is not touched by the other player, it is called an ace.
